An Introduction to Motivational Maps®
Overview
This 2-hour session is designed to help you to understand your core motivations and how these can affect your success and happiness at work. These motivations are not a conscious decision, but rather emerge from your self-concept, beliefs, expectations and personality. As with our purpose in life, we do not ‘invent’ motivations instead, we detect them. It is vital to go with the grain of our motivations.
As part of this course, you will have an Individual Motivational Map® profile. In order to produce the profile, you will be asked to complete a short online evaluation (15 – 20 minutes) prior to the session. Your Motivational Map® profile will indicate what motivates you by ordering the nine motivators along with giving you an indication of how motivated you are in your current role.
During the session you will be guided through your Motivational Map® profile and the nine motivators, explore how they connect to your performance at work and how to build a Motivational Action Plan.
How much does it cost?
£199 excluding VAT (participant fee includes session attendance and your individual Motivational Map)
Who should attend this course?
Anyone who is looking to improve performance for themselves and / or within their teams.
What you'll learn
The Motivational Map® comprises of three cluster areas, with each of these containing three core motivations which is why there is a total of nine core Motivations.
Usually three of these predominate, although sometimes this can vary – two may stand out, or more than three can emerge. Within your dominant three, there is one core motivation – your work must fulfil this motivation if there is to be any real satisfaction. It is important to identify your motivations and to work consistently at getting more of them in the workplace. It is also highly likely that what you want from work, you also want from the rest of your life. This is why examining your motivations is of fundamental importance!
As a leader or team member, Motivational Maps® will give you a ‘language’ for motivation. It has often been said that it is not possible to motivate anyone – only to provide the environment in which they will motivate themselves. These nine motivators will create an understanding of how your team can meet their needs to increase productivity, work satisfaction and performance. This language will create a shared understanding amongst individuals and examine alignment with the dominant priorities of your team as a whole.
What participants say about the course
The Agar experience was warm and professional from the initial sign-up to course follow-up. The course I attended, on Motivational Maps, was well-paced, full of brilliantly useful information and it’s left me inspired to find out more, which I know will benefit me at home and at work. I’d recommend Agar as an organisation that really cares about its clients.
